Material overview

The question we’re asked most about AirMesh is “is it a flag or a banner?” — and the answer is both. It’s a hugely versatile perforated textile that stands in wherever PVC banner materials or knitted flag fabric have traditionally been used, and thrives in the most exposed, demanding conditions.

At 105gsm it’s remarkably light — a full 11ft × 6ft mesh banner weighs around 1.8 lb, versus roughly 4.2 lb for a PVC equivalent, which makes a real difference on larger or higher installs. Being 100% polyester, it also folds flat instead of needing a tube, and it’s more environmentally friendly than PVC — often the deciding factor for clients with sustainability policies.

These are the standard finishes for AirMesh. There is no additional charge for any of them.

Hems & grommetsNo extra charge

A reinforced stitched hem with rust-free plastic grommets at even spacing — roughly one every 3ft as standard. Custom spacing or positions are no problem; just tell us when you order.

Hems only No extra charge

A clean reinforced hem with no eyelets.

Pole pockets No extra charge

A sewn pocket on the edges you choose, so a pole can pass through to support and tension the banner. Tell us the diameter going through it and we’ll size the pocket for you.

Artwork

Set your files up to our artwork requirements, and supply 2" (50mm) of bleed to allow for hems, shrinkage, and movement during printing and cutting.

Sizes & custom quotes

Standard pricing covers graphics up to 10ft (3m) on the shortest edge. Anything larger just needs a quick custom quote — get in touch and we’ll price it up.

Good to know

• Some light show-through is possible when a strong light source sits directly behind the fabric.
• The direction of the mesh holes is set by the material roll and how items are nested for printing, so it can’t be guaranteed and may vary between banners on the same order. If orientation matters to you, talk to us before ordering.
• Machine washable and reusable — wash cold and gentle, no detergent, and dry fully before storing.
